Local Orienteering Events

On Saturday 7th October Interlopers Orienteering club will be organising an event in Braidburn Valley Park. This type of event is aimed specifically at newcomers and those with little experience of the activity. It is therefore ideal for children of primary school age and their parents / guardians.

Courses and learning activities for parents and carers

Parents and carers of children aged 0-16 years can take part in a range of programmes provided by City of Edinburgh Council, NHS and voluntary organisations.

They offer

  • Activity-based courses, where adults and children attend, play and learn together
  • Adult learning courses in a group setting

National survey on the expansion of free early learning and childcare in Scotland

As you’ll be aware the Scottish Government is planning to nearly double the hours of free early learning and childcare by 2020. Because the views of parents and carers are crucial for the success of this expansion, the Government has commissioned independent researchers to undertake a survey of parents. It is now asking for your help in sharing the survey link ( with as many parents of 0-5 year old children in your community as possible.

All parents taking part will have the opportunity to be entered into a prize draw and have the chance to win one of 10 x GBP100 cash prizes.
